About Fiona

Fiona B. Wright

When a teenage Fiona belted JC Lodge’s signature tune “Someone Loves You Honey” before a packed auditorium at Manchester High School in Jamaica – with her parents and brother waving in the stands – her performance was somewhat of a surprise to her peers, especially due to her shy demeanor in sharing the grand spotlight.  Behind the scenes, however, Fiona B. Wright thoroughly enjoyed – dancing, singing and writing, which carved a path for her in which only the universe could foresee.

Fast forward some decades – mix in a marriage, motherhood and an award-winning career as an account executive – Fiona found herself right back where she started. Only this time, not on stage – but certainly not far from it.

Reggae music – Jamaica – Caribbean culture, never left the England-born, Jamaican-raised mother of two. In 2004, she founded Caribbean Vibes Radio promoting some popular as well as up-and-coming music and artists as well as serving as a lead promoter on some of the most talked-about Caribbean sessions to hit the DC-Maryland-Virginia market.

A spoken word artist and published author, Fiona is now ready to hone her gift of storytelling through poetry and spoken-word. Writing, she finds is her refuge. Wright has allowed her experiences to breathe life, love, forgiveness, gratitude and encouragement in her work.

Wright currently makes the United States and Jamaica home. She is an avid traveler, enjoys photography and is a proud mother to two sons.
